Springtime at Maesbrook

22/05/2019

Activities are key to supporting our residents’ sense of mental wellbeing - we believe that memorable events, cultural experiences and the opportunity to socialize all form an important part of providing a stimulating and engaging environment for residents.

Residents can access as many or as few of these events as they wish, and there are lots of safe and tranquil spaces to enjoy their own space and time alone, such as our peaceful, wheelchair-friendly landscaped gardens and spacious conservatory.

Many of our events and activities are tailored to what each resident enjoys most, and we always aim to ensure there’s something to interest and engage everyone – whatever their hobbies and physical ability.

Naturally, the level of activity depends on the ability of our residents at the time, which can differ from month to month.

Here at the home, one of our most popular events is a weekly reminiscing session where our residents can get together and have their memories of the past and thoughts on the present.

 Card making

Helping our residents preserve a strong sense of identity is a key part of what we do, and these sessions help to support memory function and social engagement.
