How we help our residents to look and feel their best
Here at Maesbrook Care Home in Shrewsbury, we understand the importance of maintaining overall physical wellbeing in later life, so as well as supporting our residents with high standards of nursing and palliative care, we strive to provide the right mix of facilities, services and activities to support physical health.
Each one of our residents has their own unique physical needs, and as well as administering regular medications, we organize escorts and transport for all external appointments such as dental visits, diabetic assessments and GP reviews.
Our dedicated minibus is available every day at all hours of day or night for whatever our residents require, and we are visited on a weekly basis by a physiotherapist who provides complimentary physio sessions to all our residents to support comfort and mobility. Visits from a chiropodist can also be arranged to help maintain foot health.
Our residents take pride in their appearance, and we organize frequent visits from our dedicated hairdresser who helps both male and female residents look and feel their best with everything from a fresh wash and set or a whole new hairstyle. We also provide a complimentary laundry service where garments are washed, pressed and promptly returned, helping our residents to feel clean and smart.
A key part of physical wellbeing is a nutritionally balanced diet, and our head chef and cook create a delicious and varied weekly menu that ensures residents have access to healthy and nourishing meals that are not only tailored around their medication, allergies and dietary requirements but, wherever possible, are foods they enjoy most.
Throughout all our services and activities, a focus on physical and mental wellbeing remains a key part of life at Maesbrook and our goal is to ensure each of our residents enjoy their time with us. To find out more or arrange a tour, please visit www.maesbrook.com or call us on 01743 241474.
